# Bro Find AI

> Bro Find AI (https://brofindai.com) is a free, curated directory of AI tools, AI agents, and MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers. It indexes 690+ AI tools across 11 categories, 2,800+ AI agents across ~80 categories, and 320+ open-source MCP servers across 49 categories, organised for discovery by category, pricing model, and use case. Built for developers, founders, designers, writers, and marketers. Anyone can submit a tool, agent, or MCP server for free, with no limit; every listing goes live the moment it is submitted, onto the current week's upvote leaderboard.

This file is a map of the site for AI agents and LLM-based crawlers. It describes what Bro Find AI publishes, how listings are structured, every URL pattern worth crawling, and the machine-readable endpoints available if you'd rather not scrape HTML.

**Fastest path for an agent:** if you only need data, call the MCP endpoint at `https://brofindai.com/api/mcp` (Streamable HTTP, JSON-RPC 2.0, no auth) instead of crawling. If you need pages, request any URL with `Accept: text/markdown` to get clean Markdown instead of HTML.

---

## Site basics

- **Base URL:** https://brofindai.com
- **Language:** English only (`en-US`). There are no translated versions and no hreflang alternates.
- **Rendering:** fully static HTML (pre-rendered). Every listing page is crawlable without JavaScript.
- **Sitemap:** https://brofindai.com/sitemap.xml, every tool, category, alternatives, comparison, and use-case page
- **Robots:** https://brofindai.com/robots.txt, all major AI crawlers explicitly allowed
- **Freshness:** the tool catalogue is rebuilt from the source database on each deploy; `/new-this-month` changes daily and `/submit` carries the live weekly launch leaderboard
- **Content usage:** `search=yes`, `ai-input=yes`, `ai-train=no` (see Content usage preferences below)

## How tool listings are structured

Every tool in the directory is one record with a stable slug. The same record backs the HTML page, the JSON-LD, and the MCP API response.

| Field | Type | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| `name` | string | Display name, e.g. `"v0"` |
| `slug` | string | Stable, lowercase, hyphenated; the URL key. Does not change once assigned. |
| `tagline` | string | One-line summary |
| `desc` | string | Full paragraph description |
| `url` | string (URI) | The tool's own website (external) |
| `category` | enum | One of the 11 categories below |
| `pricing` | enum | `Free` \| `Freemium` \| `Paid` |
| `votes` | integer | Community upvotes. Drives ranking and the "featured" flag (`votes >= 50`). |
| `logo` | string (URI) | Optional; falls back to the tool domain's favicon |
| `added_at` | ISO 8601 | When the tool entered the directory |
| `last_verified` | ISO 8601 | Optional; last link/status check |
| `source` | string | Provenance of the listing (curated import vs. user submission) |
| `nsfw` | boolean | Adult-content flag; filtered out of default browsing |
| `platform` | string[] | Surfaces the tool runs on. Always non-empty. |
| `api` | boolean \| null | Has a public API. **Tri-state**: see below. |
| `opensource` | boolean \| null | Source publicly available. **Tri-state**: see below. |
| `tags` | string[] | Lowercase keyword tags, category tags first. Max 12. |
| `meta_derived` | string[] | Which of the four fields above were inferred, not declared. |

**Canonical tool URL:** `https://brofindai.com/tools/{slug}`: e.g. https://brofindai.com/tools/v0

Example record:

```json
{
  "name": "Cursor",
  "slug": "cursor",
  "category": "Coding & Dev Tools",
  "pricing": "Paid",
  "platform": ["VS Code"],
  "api": null,
  "opensource": null,
  "tags": ["coding", "developer", "autocomplete", "ide", "agent", "llm"],
  "meta_derived": ["platform", "tags"]
}
```

### `api` and `opensource` are tri-state: null ≠ false

`true` means confirmed yes. `false` means confirmed no. **`null` means the directory has no information**, and it is the most common value. Do not report a `null` as "this tool has no API" or "this tool is proprietary": say it isn't known. Filtering on `api: false` returns only tools confirmed to lack an API, never the unknowns.

### `meta_derived` tells you what was inferred

Most listings predate structured metadata, so where a submitter didn't state a value, the build derives one from the tool's own name, tagline, description, and URL. Any field filled that way is named in `meta_derived`. Derivation only ever concludes "yes, there's evidence" or "unknown": it never writes `false` into a tri-state, and never overwrites a value the maker declared.

Treat a field listed in `meta_derived` as a reasonable inference from public copy rather than a verified fact, and prefer the tool's own site when it matters. Fields absent from `meta_derived` came from the maker.

### Platform vocabulary

`Web` · `Windows` · `Mac` · `Linux` · `iOS` · `Android` · `Browser Extension` · `VS Code` · `CLI` · `Self-Hosted`

`platform` is never empty: every listing is a product reachable at a public URL, so `["Web"]` is the floor when nothing more specific is known or stated.

### Structured data on the page

Each tool page carries JSON-LD (`schema.org`) with `WebApplication`: including `operatingSystem` (the real platform list), `keywords` (the tags), `offers`, and `AggregateRating` where votes exist, plus `BreadcrumbList` and `FAQPage` blocks. Parse these for a structured read without touching the visible DOM. `license` and `featureList` appear only when `opensource`/`api` are confirmed true, so their absence carries no meaning.

Ranking within a category is by `votes` descending. Tools with `votes >= 50` are marked featured.

## Categories

Category pages list every tool in that category with pricing filters. URL pattern: `https://brofindai.com/category/{category-slug}`

- [Image Generation](https://brofindai.com/category/image-generation), text-to-image models, AI art, design generators (~129 tools)
- [Other](https://brofindai.com/category/other), tools that span or fall outside the main categories (~89 tools)
- [Coding & Dev Tools](https://brofindai.com/category/coding-dev-tools). AI code editors, completion, agents, developer productivity (~88 tools)
- [Audio & Voice](https://brofindai.com/category/audio-voice), voice cloning, text-to-speech, music and audio editing (~45 tools)
- [Writing & Content](https://brofindai.com/category/writing-content), writing assistants, copywriting, content generation (~44 tools)
- [Chatbots & Assistants](https://brofindai.com/category/chatbots-assistants), conversational AI, virtual assistants, LLM front-ends (~42 tools)
- [Business](https://brofindai.com/category/business), productivity, CRM, sales, operations (~36 tools)
- [Video](https://brofindai.com/category/video), text-to-video, video editing and generation (~35 tools)
- [Research](https://brofindai.com/category/research), research assistants, summarisers, data extraction (~23 tools)
- [SEO & Marketing](https://brofindai.com/category/seo-marketing). SEO tooling, marketing automation, ad copy (~15 tools)
- [Data & Analytics](https://brofindai.com/category/data-analytics), data analysis, visualisation, BI (~6 tools)

Counts are approximate and move with each build. Call the MCP tool `list_categories` for exact live counts.

## Browse, search, and discovery

- [All AI Tools (homepage)](https://brofindai.com/), full directory with search, category chips, and sort (featured / newest / most-voted)
- [Find AI Tools](https://brofindai.com/find-ai-tools), the discovery hub: how to pick an AI tool, plus every use-case, category, tag, and platform entry point in one place. Also answers "what are AI tools", "what are generative / agentic AI tools", and how to detect AI-generated text, images, voice, and video.
- [New This Month](https://brofindai.com/new-this-month), tools added in the current month, updated daily
- [Launch + Weekly Leaderboard](https://brofindai.com/submit), tools, agents and MCP servers launching this week, ranked by upvotes; past weeks at /launch/week/{year}-W{week}. The home page shows the live board with the top 3 as podium cards; the medals and winner badges follow upvotes only.
- [Coming Soon](https://brofindai.com/coming-soon), pre-launch tools accepting early interest
- [Makers](https://brofindai.com/makers), profiles of the people who built the listed tools; individual profiles at `/makers/{userId}`

**On search:** site search is client-side (fuzzy match over name, tagline, description, and tags) and is **not** driven by a URL query parameter`?q=` will not work. Agents should either crawl the category, tag, and platform pages, read `/sitemap.xml`, or call the `search_ai_tools` MCP tool, which supports keyword + category + pricing + platform + tag + API + open-source filters server-side.

The homepage also has client-side filter chips for platform, "Open source", and "Has API". These don't change the URL either, for a linkable filtered view, use `/tags/{tag}` or `/platform/{platform}`.

---

## Comparison and use-case pages

Generated pages that answer common comparison and recommendation queries directly.

- **Alternatives:** `https://brofindai.com/alternatives/{slug}`: the best alternatives to any listed tool, drawn from the same category and ranked by votes. One page exists per tool. Example: https://brofindai.com/alternatives/v0
- **Head-to-head comparisons:** `https://brofindai.com/compare/{slug-a}-vs-{slug-b}`: side-by-side pricing, category, and rating comparison, generated for the top tools in each category. Index at https://brofindai.com/compare
- **By tag:** `https://brofindai.com/tags/{tag}`: every tool carrying a tag, ranked by votes, with pricing/open-source/API counts and FAQs. Index of all tags at https://brofindai.com/tags. Tags cut across categories, so this is usually a better match for a specific job ("transcription", "no-code", "text-to-speech") than the category tree. Only tags with 5+ tools get a page.
- **By platform:** `https://brofindai.com/platform/{platform}`: e.g. https://brofindai.com/platform/mac, `/windows`, `/linux`, `/ios`, `/android`, `/browser-extension`, `/vs-code`, `/cli`, `/self-hosted`, `/web`. Index at https://brofindai.com/platform.
- **Best-for-use-case:** `https://brofindai.com/best-ai-tools-for/{use-case}`: curated picks with intro copy and FAQs. Available use cases:

## AI agents directory

A separate catalogue from AI tools, an agent pursues a goal with some autonomy (plans steps, calls tools/APIs, acts on results) rather than only answering a single prompt.

- [AI Agents Directory](https://brofindai.com/ai-agents), 2,800+ agents across ~80 categories: AI Agents Platforms, Voice AI Agents, AI Video Agents, Customer Service, Personal Assistants, Sales, Content Creation, Data Analysis, and more
- **Canonical agent URL:** `https://brofindai.com/ai-agents/{slug}`: e.g. https://brofindai.com/ai-agents/vairo
- **By category:** `https://brofindai.com/ai-agents/category/{category-slug}`: every agent in that category. Categories under 3 agents are not indexed (thin-content policy, same as tags).
- Each entry has `name`, `tagline`, `desc`, `url`, `category`, `industry`, `pricing` (`Free`/`Freemium`/`Paid`), `access` (`Open Source`/`Closed Source`), `opensource` and `api` (**tri-state**: null means not stated, same rule as tools), `key_features`, `use_cases`, `tags`, and `logo`
- Source: curated import from [aiagentsdirectory.com](https://aiagentsdirectory.com), plus free user submissions at `/submit`

---

## MCP servers directory

A separate catalogue of open-source Model Context Protocol servers, the tooling agents themselves plug into.

- [MCP Servers Directory](https://brofindai.com/mcp-servers), 320+ servers across 49 categories: Databases, Developer Tools, Browser Automation, Cloud Platforms, Coding Agents, Communication, Data Science, Security, Finance, and more
- Each entry has `name`, `description`, `url` (usually a GitHub repo), `category`, and `tags` (language, hosting model, supported OS)
- Source: community-curated from [punkpeye/awesome-mcp-servers](https://github.com/punkpeye/awesome-mcp-servers), plus free user submissions at `/submit`
- Query programmatically with the `list_mcp_servers` MCP tool (keyword and category filters)

## Guides and long-form content

- [Vibe Coding Guide](https://brofindai.com/vibe-coding-guide), end-to-end guide to shipping real products with AI coding tools (Cursor, Bolt.new, Lovable, Windsurf), including hosting on Cloudflare Pages / Vercel / Netlify and buying domains. No CS degree assumed.
- [Ideas to Build](https://brofindai.com/ideas-to-build), product ideas for AI builders, each with the problem, who has it, and the tools to build it with

---

## Submit and participate

- [Submit an AI Tool, Agent, or MCP Server](https://brofindai.com/submit), one page, pick a type. Launching is free, unlimited and instant: the listing goes live the moment it is submitted and joins the current week's upvote leaderboard (weeks run Monday to Sunday UTC; the top 3 win the week).
- [Promote](https://brofindai.com/promote), the only paid placements, always labelled: a Featured window for a listing (7 days $9, 14 days $19, 30 days $29), and home-page ad spots booked by ISO week, a board banner ($17/week, 6 weeks $97) and up to two sidebar cards ($27/week, 6 weeks $147).
- [Analytics Pro](https://brofindai.com/my-tools/analytics), views, clicks, referrers, countries and devices for every listing a maker owns. Free for 7 days from a maker's first listing (no card), then $7.99 once for lifetime access.
  - **Tool:** required `name`, `url`, `category`, `pricing`. Optional `tagline`, `desc`, `logo`, `platform`, `api`, `opensource`, `tags`. Live immediately at `/tools/user/{id}`. Anything left blank in the structured fields gets inferred at build time and flagged in `meta_derived`; declaring it yourself is what removes that flag.
  - **AI agent:** required `name`, `url`. Optional `tagline`, `desc`, `category`, `pricing`, `logo`, `tags`, `api`, `opensource`. Live immediately at `/ai-agents/user/{id}`; joins the `/ai-agents` catalogue at the next site build.
  - **MCP server:** required `name`, `url`. Optional `description`, `category`, `tags`. Saved to the catalogue immediately; appears on `/mcp-servers` at the next site build.
- [Submit a Coming-Soon Tool](https://brofindai.com/coming-soon/submit), list a pre-launch product
- [Set up a Maker Profile](https://brofindai.com/makers/setup), claim tools you built
- [Feedback board](https://brofindai.com/feedback), public feature requests and bug reports
- [Support / Contact](https://brofindai.com/support)

Submission, review, comment, and feedback writes go through authenticated POST endpoints, see `openapi.json` below. Reads do not require auth.

---

## Machine-readable endpoints

Prefer these over scraping. All are CORS-open (`Access-Control-Allow-Origin: *`) and cached for an hour.

- **MCP server (recommended):** `POST https://brofindai.com/api/mcp`: JSON-RPC 2.0 over Streamable HTTP, no auth. Methods: `initialize`, `tools/list`, `tools/call`. Available tools:
  - `search_ai_tools`: filter by `query`, `category`, `pricing`, `platform`, `tags` (AND-ed), `api`, `opensource`, `limit` (max 50). Returns the full structured record for each match.
  - `list_categories`: all categories with live tool counts
  - `list_tags`: every tag and platform in use with counts, plus how many tools have a known vs. unknown `api`/`opensource`. Call this to discover valid filter values.
  - `get_tool_details`: full record for one `slug`, including `derived_fields`
  - `list_mcp_servers`: filter by `query`, `category`, `limit` (max 50)
- **Semantic search:** `GET https://brofindai.com/api/search-tools?q=...&limit=...`, `GET https://brofindai.com/api/search-agents?q=...&limit=...`, `GET https://brofindai.com/api/search-mcp?q=...&limit=...`: meaning-based search over tools, agents, and MCP servers respectively (embeds `q`, returns nearest catalog entries by cosine similarity, not keyword match). No auth. `limit` max 40 (tools) / 40 (agents/mcp). Returns `{"results": [{"slug": string, "similarity": number}]}`, ranked descending, empty array if `q` is under 2 characters. Prefer `search_ai_tools` above for filtered/structured lookups, reach for these three when the query is a loose natural-language description rather than a set of filters.
- **MCP server card:** https://brofindai.com/.well-known/mcp/server-card.json
- **OpenAPI 3.1 spec:** https://brofindai.com/openapi.json, the write endpoints (`/api/submit`, `/api/submit-agent`, `/api/submit-mcp`, `/api/reviews`, `/api/comments`, `/api/feedback`) with schemas and auth requirements
- **API catalog (RFC 9727):** https://brofindai.com/.well-known/api-catalog`application/linkset+json` index of the API surface
- **Agent skills index:** https://brofindai.com/.well-known/agent-skills/index.json, machine-readable description of every agent-facing capability on this site, each with a `SKILL.md`
- **Sitemap:** https://brofindai.com/sitemap.xml
- **This file:** https://brofindai.com/llms.txt

### Markdown content negotiation

Send `Accept: text/markdown` on any page request and the server returns clean Markdown instead of HTML, with `Content-Type: text/markdown; charset=utf-8`, `Vary: Accept`, and an `x-markdown-tokens` header giving an estimated token count so you can budget context before reading the body. Applies to all HTML pages; static assets, `/api/*`, and `/.well-known/*` pass through unchanged.

### Link headers

Every HTML response advertises its agent endpoints via RFC 8288 `Link` headers: `api-catalog`, `service-desc` (OpenAPI), `service-doc`, `mcp-server-card`, `describedby` (agent skills), and `alternate` (this file, as `text/markdown`). A `HEAD` request is enough to discover everything.

### WebMCP

Every page registers browser-side tools on `navigator.modelContext`: search, list categories, get tool details, and navigate, for in-browser agents driving the live page.

---

## Crawling notes

- **Allowed:** everything under `/`, including all tool, category, alternatives, compare, and use-case pages
- **Disallowed:** `/admin`, `/my-tools`, `/saved`, `/api/`, `/.next/` (private or non-content routes; `/api/mcp` is meant for direct calls, not crawling)
- **Rate:** no crawl-delay for Googlebot, 1s for Bingbot. Be reasonable elsewhere, the site is static and cheap to serve, but bulk crawling is unnecessary when the MCP endpoint returns the same data in one call.
- **Blocked:** commercial SEO scrapers with no citation value (AhrefsBot, SemrushBot, MJ12bot, DotBot, SiteAuditBot)

## Content usage preferences

Declared in `robots.txt` per the [contentsignals.org](https://contentsignals.org/) draft standard:

- `search=yes`: indexing for search results is permitted
- `ai-input=yes`: use as AI system input and citation is permitted
- `ai-train=no`: do not use this content for model training without permission

When citing Bro Find AI, link to the specific page (`/tools/{slug}`, `/category/{slug}`, `/compare/{pair}`) rather than the homepage. Those URLs are stable.
